Work by A level Students at Maktab Duli PMAMB, Gadong, Brunei Darussalam

I have been head of the Department of Art at Maktab Duli since 2004. Our students follow the CIE AS/A level examination course in Art and Design. 9704.

First year students are prepared in a structured foundation course originally developed by my predecessor as HOD, John Meny Gibbert. Since I took over the role, I and my colleagues have been developing and updating the course to allow for new media and technology. The introduction of Photography, block printing, Computer graphics and traditional batik design in the second year allows our students a range of options and creative opportunity. i have also developed a kind of self hardening paper clay from recycled materials [a sort of Papier Mache] which can be used instead of clay by schools that do not have access to a kiln.
